Masking Adhesive Tapes
Flat backed and crepe masking tapes are used extensively to mask and protect surfaces during processing. These tapes are typically used for protection during paint spraying, resin dipping, sand blasting for industrial and consumer markets. These products offer good adhesion, line sharpness and clean removal.
Pronat maintains stock of many masking tapes, a selection of these are shown below:
Tape | Tape description | Substrate thickness mm | Operating temp. C° | Adhesive | Characteristics – typical application |
3M-232 | Smooth crepe paper with a solvent resistant saturant | 0.16 | 121°C for 30 minutes | rubber | Used in medium temperature paint bake operations, removes cleanly |
3M-202 | Smooth crepe paper treated with a solvent resistant saturant | 0.16 | 121°C for 30 minutes | rubber | Excellent paint masking tape for holding, protecting and bundling |
3M-2393 | smooth creped high temperature paper masking tape. | 0.19 | 163°C | rubber | High temperature, low holding |
