- Fluoropolymer Films & Fabrics
Fluoropolymer films consist of a family of films having excellent performance characteristics, such as non-stick, chemical resistance, optical transparency, weather resistance, heat resistance, moisture resistance, non-flammable and electrical resistance. Their unique capabilities, not found in other resins are utilized in increasingly diversified and sophisticated industries such as electronic, chemical, aerospace, solar panels and agriculture.
FEP Film
FEP film (fluorinated ethylene propylene) is a transparent, thermoplastic film that can be die-cut, thermoformed, heat sealed, welded and laminated, for a variety of applications. FEP film has exceptional qualities of chemical resistance, electrical insulation, mechanical toughness, weather and temperature resistance. FEP is available from Pronat, in thicknesses ranging from 12um to 500um. cementable ble grades can also be specified.
PFA Film
PFA film (perfluoroalkoxy polymer) offers a combination of excellent dielectric properties across a wide temperature and frequency range, the highest level of chemical and stress crack resistance, excellent clarity and weatherability. The chemical resistance of PFA provides excellent tank-lining performance. This film offers the highest continuous use temperature 260°C of any melt-processable fluoropolymer film, PFA film offers many of the performance properties of PTFE in a clear, transparent form and can be heat sealed, thermoformed, welded, metalized, or laminated to a wide variety of materials.
ETFE Film
ETFE film (Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) has superior mechanical toughness to FEP and PFA and similar chemical resistance. Like other thermoplastic films, ETFE film can be processed using established converting techniques, including die-cutting, laminating, heat sealing, and thermoforming. ETFE can be used continuously up to 150°C.
PTFE Film
Cast PTFE film (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is made up of very thin layers which have been individually deposited, sintered and fused together to produce a material having more uniform properties than can be achieved by any other manufacturing process. Films ranging from 0.125mm to 5mm in thickness are produced and they are suitable for continuous service in a temperature range from -195°C to + 260°C.
Applications include wire insulation, battery and fuel cell components.
PTFE Coated Fabrics
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) coated fabrics have the benefit of PTFE fluoropolymers with the exceptional mechanical properties of woven fabric. By adjusting the coating weight of PTFE and utilising different fabric grades, a range of coated fabrics is possible to suit the many applications for these hard wearing materials used throughout industry. Applications include gaskets and seals for the aviation, automotive, oil and gas industry, and fabricate endless belts for the food packing and processing industry,
Using these materials it is possible to fabricate endless belts for the food packing and processing industry, gaskets and seals for the automotive industry.
